Designing often involves various amounts of trial and error, to ensure the final outcome is how you intended it to be.
This is the second pattern to be included within my Knit Kits. The sample is knit using Madelinetosh Merino Light using the colors ‘Farmhouse White’, ‘Calligraphy’, ‘Kitten’, and ‘Graphite’.
Here is the first design that will be included as part of my Knit Kits – the Blossoming Vine Stole. The sample is knit using Madelinetosh Merino Light in colorway ‘Antique Lace’.
Florence Spurling Studio will be releasing a collection of contemporary hand knitting kits featuring the Studio’s distinct decorative aesthetic.

What is it?
Moss stitch (or Seed stitch as it is know in the USA) is comprised of single knits and purls that alternate horizontally and vertically. As the name suggests, the resulting fabric looks like little scattered seeds.
When I’m not designing and making textiles in my studio, I teach machine knitting, hand knitting and crochet. This is primarily at Parsons The New School, in addition to select yarn stores and private lessons/intensive workshops.
